About Me

IMG_9774_edited.jpg

I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Since 2012, I have worked in various NHS settings supporting individuals and families with aspects of their physical and emotional well-being. I am skilled in working with a range of psychological difficulties including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, OCD, grief, phobias and trauma. I am also experienced in working with individuals with neurodiversity and gender identity concerns.

Working with people with long term health conditions is a particular area of interest and expertise. I have experience across both adult and paediatric settings, supporting people with conditions such as Crohn's disease, Ulcerative Colitis, PKU, Chronic Fatigue, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Chronic Pain, and ‘functional’ or ‘medically unexplained’ symptoms (e.g. FND and non-epileptic seizures). I understand the sense of loss and uncertainty that can come with a change in one's physical health and am able to support people through a journey of adjustment and acceptance when a health concern changes someone's daily life.

My work uses an integrative approach, drawing upon a range of therapeutic models dependent on what is helpful and meaningful for each individual. Models I regularly draw on in my work include  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).

I also have particular expertise in child and adolescent mental health, having worked in CAMHS for a number of years. Within this field, I am especially skilled in providing support to parents, as well as children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, anger and low self-esteem.

I offer a warm and compassionate approach, taking time to listen and understand your situation to ensure that the work that we do together is personal and meaningful to you. If you are currently seeking support, I am able to offer a 15 minute free telephone/video consultation where we can discuss your needs in confidence.

Further details of the support I am able to offer is detailed in the 'Therapy' section of this website.
