I support individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

I work with a range of emotional difficulties, including (but not limited to):

  • Anxiety

  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • Panic attacks

  • Depression

  • School/exam/work stress

  • Trauma

  • Phobias

  • Worry

  • Low self-esteem/confidence

  • Parenting pressures

  • Anger

  • Peer relationships

  • Impact of physical health concerns

I strongly believe in the importance of tailoring the support I offer to the person with whom I am working. Each therapy session is based on a shared understanding of what it is that is causing you difficulty (often referred to as a formulation).

In order to achieve a truly personalised therapy experience, I often work from an integrative approach. This means I draw upon a range of therapeutic models dependent upon which approach best fits with your experiences. All models and approaches are empirically based and I work to find the right balance between what is meaningful to you and what the research suggests may be beneficial in supporting you.

Approaches that I regularly use in my practice include:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Mindfulness approaches

  • Systemic approaches

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

I am particularly interested and skilled in working with individuals with long-term health conditions and have experience working with the following conditions (not an exhaustive list):

  • Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) including Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis

  • Coeliac disease

  • Myalgic Encephalomyelotis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS)

  • Metabolic conditions such as PKU

  • Food allergies and restricted eating

  • Gynecomastia

  • Brain injury including TBI and stroke, as well as other neurological conditions

  • Chronic pain

  • Non-epileptic seizures

  • Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)

  • Persistent physical symptoms - often referred to as “medically unexplained” or “functional” symptoms

I work with both adults and children with physical health concerns. The relationship between physical and mental health is something I feel passionately about and I strive to provide a service that recognises the emotional and psychological impact that managing a long-term health condition can have on daily life.

I am also particularly skilled in working with children and adolescents with mental health concerns, alongside their families.
